What is LendTez?

LendTez is an open-source, Peer-to-Peer lending and borrowing protocol with no commissions and no liquidation where users can participate as borrowers or lenders. Borrowers can borrow XTZ and Tezos-based tokens built with the FA token standards (FA1.2 and FA2), while lenders provide liquidity.

With every update and release of new versions, previous versions of the protocol will function permanently, with 100% uptime, provided the continued existence of the Tezos blockchain. If you want to see more Tezos tokens available for borrowing, please drop us a line on our GitHub.

How does LendTez work?

To create a new loan request, provide liquidity to existing loan requests, or see your existing deals, head over to the interface and connect a Tezos wallet.
Learn more about Tezos wallets here.

What's the cost?

Interacting with the protocol requires transactions and so transaction fees for Tezos Blockchain usage, which depend on the network status and transaction complexity. There are no additional fees or Service Fees other than the network transaction cost.

Is it safe to use it?

We have tried to minimise the risk as much as possible - the protocol code is public and open source, which allows anyone to interact with a user interface client or directly with the smart contracts on the Tezos network.

How to borrow currency?

Go to the Borrow section. Create a new loan request by clicking the + New loan button. You'll see a pop–up with information to be filled or chosen from dropdown fields.
The pop-up is divided into three categories: Loan, Collateral and Optional.

· Loan (all fields are mandatory):
Asset stands for the currency you want to borrow.
The amount is simply how many tokens of chosen currency you need to borrow.
Loan term your loan duration or how long do you plan to keep the currency?
Reward set any amount of tokens the liquidity provider for your loan will get for being such a lovely person and provide you with the desired token. The bigger the number, the more attractive your request will be.
(*APR stands for the Annual Percentage Rate)

· Collateral. Simply put it is insurance for the liquidity provider, if a borrower won't pay back the loan:
Asset stands for currencies you can choose as collateral.
Amount - how many tokens of a collateralised asset you are offering.

· Optional. As the name says, you don't have to. The system offers to make a decision if the request will be hanging there forever or just for some time.

How does lending work?

For lending tokens, go to the Lend section. Choose a loan request from the list and click on it. From the pop-up window, click on the Lend button, and confirm the transaction from your wallet.

What is "Deals"?

List of existing users' lendings and borrowings. As a lender you can use collateral withdrawal from outdated deals, as a borrower you can repay loans.

How to cancel my loan request?

Click on a field with the loan request and then on a Cancel request button in the appeared pop-up window.

Where are funds stored?

All funds are stored in a smart contract. The smart contract code is public, open source and formally verified.

Does LendTez have smart contract audits?

The current protocol version 1.0 is built on version 0.71 and audited by Inference AG. Please find the link to the audit here.

Built without Tezos Foundation support.
